Last week, we were talking about choosing the right path. Now this could have been for anything in life, but for me I was sharing with you about my health.
I’ve chosen to live a much healthier life. My wife and I have chosen to teach our children about their own health and the foods they eat are critical to living a good life.
I won’t see the results overnight, but I am hoping that by staying the course, I will live a longer, fuller, disease free life. One that helps me see the day where my kids blow out 90 or more candles.
Staying the course for me means I need to focus on eating whole foods, living things, like plants, not dead animals. Earlier this year I went 32 days without eating meat, then I had In&Out Burger; it was weird, I completely lost the craving and taste for it, I honestly felt sick after eating it.
My wife and I are doing away with processed foods, which is hard because almost everything in the American diet is processed!
Our morning routine for breakfast has changed from Cereal and Pancakes to blended spinach, bananas, and berries. I feel great, eating raw nuts occasionally throughout the day, eating garbanzo beans mixed with brown rice, and fresh salsa for a nice dinner, and plenty of fresh soups and salads. My family eats apple seeds and apricot seeds in our smoothies as well. Our water is fluoride free and the deodorant we use is not only organic, but it has no aluminum.
I am literally in the process of ridding our life of chemicals, from our laundry detergent to our shampoo. Our body and skin is absorbing all kinds of harmful chemicals!
Some will say this lifestyle costs more, but that is not the truth because I plan to live a disease free life. There is great value in this and I am not just talking about the savings in future medical bills that I will not be faced with.
Today I am personally about 30 pounds over weight, so I’ve recently bought a treadmill desk from LifeSpan. I now walk a minimum of 3 hours per day while I read and write. The crazy thing is I actually feel very energetic after this, not tired like I used to after sitting all day.
My healthier lifestyle decisions are about my life, so I will need to stay the course in order to see my vision play out.
Think about where you want to go in life or things you want to see change. What do you need to do to accomplish this? Do these things, little and big, and then stay the course!
