I was recently sent a high school graduation speech that had me laughing so hard I about fell out of my chair. It was only 6 minutes long, but the young man, Shane Askins, not only nailed it when it comes to life, but he had an ability to share his knowledge with others by teaching them in a real time example of “live it up.”
This is a Must Watch!
To start, Shane gives you and everyone in the crowd that awkward humor, with school administration officials sharing the stage, Shane reveals that this is the best moment in high school because he gets to leave.
“High school is about as far from real life as you can get.” – Shane Askins
In this speech, which I have a feeling will soon become a YouTube classic, Shane talks about the most important question…
“Where is the heart? Where is the love to learn?”
Success isn’t found in a grade, degree, or a job, it is found in what your passion is, doing what you love. Shane points out that a lot of what we learn is how to become artificially motivated. I know, I still can’t believe this speech came from a high school graduate, unbelievable! This guy gets it and he’s only 18!
I love that he asked the question, “where is the love to learn?”
My own advice to everyone who is trying to find their passion is to go into a bookstore and ask yourself, “what section would you happily read every book available?”
For myself, since I was 13 I would get dropped off at my local Barnes and Noble and head straight to the investing and personal finance area, I just love hanging out in that section. Today, my favorite thing to do is to learn new things that I can share with my subscribers at FutureMoneyTrends.com. Wealth building strategies are my passion.
My mentor and friend David Morgan of the MorganReport.com, often says, “don’t become a know it all, become a learn it all.” I hope that you are inspired as much by this video as I was, watch below.
