- Do you have a wealth standard?
- Outside of your household, who are the 5 people you speak with and listen to the most?
- Are they wealth accumulators or have they settled for an average life?
- Are they motivated and passionate, or are they just going through the motions of life?
- Do they help lift you up or bring you down?
There is a saying that you are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with…Today that can also include the Youtube videos you watch, podcasts you listen to, and the books you read. Of course the people you spend physical time with will always be the best indicator of where you are headed.
You need a wealth standard in your life, this doesn’t mean you only surround yourself with happy, healthy, wealthy people…No I am not saying to cut out everyone in your life who isn’t on the same path as you are. A wealth standard is a special focus on meeting with, speaking with, and learning from other people who are seeking out more in life, not just the, go to school, get a job, retire, and die club.
The majority of the population is in a rat race, they finance almost everything, they work like mules, and settle for average. When you socialize with other like minded people you part ways feeling motivated and excited, a state of mind you want to ramp up in your life.
A rising tide lifts all boats, just as I was writing this article, I was called about a $120,000 fixer upper, that for $10,000 can be fully rehabbed and sold for $170,000. I told my realtor to do it, lock it up. Deals like these happen everyday for people who have a wealth standard in their circle of influence. In fact, prior to me sitting down writing this article, I met with a friend who is investing in an e-ciggerate company, because we are friends, he offered me a first round of financing for this new business that will go public early next year. I’ll likely triple my money in just 6 months.
Your relationships are going to have a lot to do with your success. This applies to everything in life, if you are hanging out with overweight people (like me) who enjoy food too much (like me), you’re probably going to end up being overweight too.
Reflect on the 5 people who you spend the most time with, because you are the average for this group.
